PRODUCT TESTS

The resistance and durability over time of the frame are guaranteed by the quality of the materials and their assembly:

– Prime choice galvanized sheet metal of 6/10 and 9/10 thickness for the frame;
– Panels with horizontal folds make the structure more rigid and robust;
– Spot-welded electro-welded mesh offers a significant tolerance to movement;
– The carriages have a static load capacity of 120kg;

The resistance and durability of the frame have been tested at the laboratories of the Certification Body “Istituto Giordano” through a series of tests and trials on the products:

– Test report no. 285820 “Determination of the breaking load of carriages for sliding doors”
This test, performed to verify the actual static load capacity, showed that the carriages used in the frame showed the first signs of yielding following a mean tensile load of 575kg, which is far above the prescribed load of 120kg by the company.

– Test report no. 285821 “Resistance to impacts from soft and hard bodies on a single internal wall according to UNI 8201:1981”
This test was conducted to evaluate the product’s resistance to impacts that may accidentally occur inside a building.
The test, carried out according to the provisions of the UNI 8201:1981 standard, subjected the sample to a series of impacts from a hard body of 1kg (steel ball) and a soft body of 50kg (leather casing containing glass beads); these impacts were made by dropping the impact bodies pendulously from a height of 200mm for the hard body and 300mm for the soft body. At the end of the test, following the examination of the sample, the outcome was “no damage”.

– Test report no. 285823 “Mechanical tests on accessories for suspended sliding doors according to UNI EN 1527:2000”
This test was conducted according to the provisions of the UNI EN 1527:2000 standard to evaluate the product’s resistance over time, particularly those accessory elements such as the guide and carriages that are more subject to wear. The test consists of a series of tests that highlighted the product’s durability over time even under the most rigorous conditions of use:
Static resistance. Test in which the guides were weighted with a load of 120kg (simulating a door) for 15 minutes with the outcome “permanent deformation = 0”.

Durability. Test in which the guide-carriage assembly was subjected to an effort of 60kg (hypothetical weight of a fixture) for a number of opening and closing cycles equal to 150,000. The test, which was passed without any presence of damage but only with “slight signs on the carriage wheels”, highlighted how the product, in the hypothetical case it undergoes 14 opening-closing cycles per day, can exceed without any problem a thirty-year lifespan.

Initial friction test before and after 150,000 cycles. Test in which the necessary effort to set the fixture in motion was verified before performing the 150,000 simulation cycles of opening-closing and after in the presence of any overloads created by wear.
The test highlighted not only that the effort required to set the fixture in motion is only 0.8kg but also that at the end of the 150,000 cycles (corresponding to thirty years of use) the required effort remains unchanged, demonstrating the product’s high resistance to wear.
